Fish, Frogs and Waterbugs - Locals in the Arthurs Creek

with Strathewen Landcare

Come to Strathewen and learn about the species which live in the Arthurs Creek and contribute to citizen science.

Join Strathewen landcare, along with Melbourne Water and Nillumbik Shire Council officers to learn about the fish, frogs, water bugs and other creatures which depend on the Arthurs Creek. Community members will be able to assist with eDNA monitoring and other techniques for measuring waterway quality. Join experts on water bug identification and have fun sampling for bugs.

Strathewen Landcare will discuss their project to help restore the Arthurs Creek. Join a morning walk along the creek with the group and learn about important habitat and plants. With lunch provided, stick around to hear from experts on managing waterways and the fish that in habitat the creek.

Melbourne Water and Council will be able to provide information on how landholders and residents can look after the creek including available grants and support.

Lunch will be provided.
